ประวัติของMaitani ช่วงเรียนมหาลัยนี่หาอ้างอิงลำบาก จำได้ว่าเคยอ่านในเวปเมื่อ3-4ปีก่อน แต่พอจะหาอ้างอิงกันพลาดก็ค้นไม่เจอซะแล้ว เอาเป็นว่าจะเล่าตามที่พอจำได้แล้วกันนะครับผิดพลาดอย่างไรต้องขออภัยด้วย
พ่อหนุ่ม Maitani นี่เข้าเรียน วิศวกรรมเครื่องกล ที่โตเกียว ในระหว่างเรียนมหาวิทยาลัยนี้ Maitani ได้พบกับ professor Torajirou Watanabeซึ่งท่านผู้นี้ได้กล่าวกับMaitaniครั้งหนึ่งว่า"What your job is, is to find out where the problem lies."ซึ่งคาถานี้เป็นแม่บทความคิดของวิศวกรหนุ่ม ซึ่งท่านจะได้เห็นในภายหลังว่าเขาใช้มันได้คล่องและขลังเพียงไร
Maitani จบการศึกษาเมื่อปี 1956 วิศวกรหนุ่มสมัครงานสองแห่ง แห่งหนึ่งคือบริษัทรถยนตร์ชั้นนำ อีกแห่งหนึ่งคือบริษัทผลิตกล้องถ่ายรูปขนาดไม่ใหญ่เท่าไร
